Lake Norman Hideaway

When checking into a rental, we always hope for great water views—and this place did not disappoint! The sunsets over the lake were breathtaking, and it was amazing to be on the water all day, every day. The guesthouse, in particular, offered stunning views; my wife and I even commented on how it felt like we were almost in the lake while standing inside and looking out. Our hosts were incredibly responsive to any questions or comments we had, and we truly appreciated their hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

Our February stay at Lake Norman Hideaway was amazing. The house has everything a guest could want for a winter sojourn from the well-outfitted kitchen to the perfectly situated hot tub with a view and waterfront fire pit area. Loved the crazy outdoor ping pong setup! Deer and water fowl came to visit in early mornings and those sunsets will last us a lifetime. The photos barely do justice - it’s that special a property. The Stay Lake Norman management company was a step above most, from initial inquiry through our departure. Their caring staff went out of their way to make sure our every need was met - even helping us arrange lovely in-home massages on our last day. Look no further for a perfect Hideaway for your next visit!

Very quick weekend family gathering in February (non lake time - so can't comment on those amenities) with one goal - quality time together. The design of this house was perfect with the open kitchen, dining, gathering concept. When my youngest adult daughter arrived first and I asked - How is the house? - her reply was "literally perfection" and it was. It was easy to access, clean, well stocked, beautiful decorated, stunning lake view, etc. Sleeping accommodations were perfect for four couples (we also used the guest house). We spent the full day and evening playing games, cooking, enjoying the hot tub and view. Would love to come back again!

The Hideaway property is fantastic. My group consisted of 9 adults ages 45-55. The house easily accommodated us and is well appointed. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck and at the fire pit, enjoying the scenic beauty of the lake. We would return with hesitation.

WE truly enjoyed our stay this last weekend. The house was so clean and neat. There was plenty of room for everyone and the view was amazing. Beautiful Views! Wonderful part of the Lake. Great location. It was secluded but only about 15 minutes to grocery stores and Target. House was beautiful and clean. We were 8 adults and very comfortable. There is also a separate guesthouse which is amazing. Had some questions about the kayaks and the back door didn’t lock. I received a call back very quickly and maintenance came that day. Would love to stay there again. Highly recommend.

Very cute setup! Each room has its own full bathroom. This property is well kept, has incredible views, and the kitchen has every utensil, pan, dish, you would need. It also has a full set of spices. We liked it so much that we extended our trip by 3 days. The guesthouse is just as beautiful as the main house. The views in the guest house are also gorgeous. This is a pet friendly property. Our senior dog loved it! It was so serene. The sunsets were amazing. Very relaxing. Many birds. The hot tub is positioned so you have a full view of the lake. Will definitely come back here again.

This property is amazing. The views at sunset were one of the highlights of each day. The location is great not too far from many stores by car and a great location for boating. We did want to make you aware of a couple items The kitchen sink slides from side to side. Seems like it needs a stronger connection to the countertop so it does not break the drain line or water lines The deck is in need of repair in some spots. Your staff was excellent as usual. We greatly appreciate the promptness and professional service we received from all of your staff and the boat and gear rental companies you partner with. We had a really nice time at the above property and Danny could not have been more helpful in removing the spider webs. Views were amazing and loved the separate guest house. The only disappointment was that the dryer couldn’t be fixed during our stay. We made it work but it was really noisy. Your team does an absolutely first class job communicating. This was also the rare instant where we didn’t have to go out and buy toilet paper soap, etc which was nice. Great recommendation on Carolina charters also.

When you first drive up to the house , it doesn’t look like anything special. Once you go inside and see how it is decorated and the size of the house, it’s absolutely beautiful. You guys do a great job at everything that you do for us. We have been two years in a row and expect to book again for next year. Very accommodating for a large family.

I have a million great words for this place, but I’ll try to summarize: beds just like home (awesome!), immaculate, furniture beautiful, bunk room impressive, guest house lovely, kitchen fully stocked, no better view through the floor to ceiling windows, and the hot tub was bliss!!!! 100% recommend, it’s so great I want to live there full time. You will not be disappointed. The only reason I was disappointed was that it was too cool to enjoy the lake…I definitely would rebook. Wonderful.

After our mother's passing in January, we sold our childhood home and wanted to take some time out of life together. We have always been a close family and although some of us don’t live as close to each other as we would like, we needed to spend some quality time in a peaceful place. I kept coming back to this listing because it checked all of the boxes. When we arrived (in the evening), we were in a state of amazement. The pictures looked great, but, in person, it more than confirmed that our choice was the perfect one. Upon entry to the home a bottle of wine was sitting on the counter with a warm and welcoming letter that just made us exhale as instant relaxation set in. From the size of the house, to the rooms, the jacuzzi, the outside deck, the boat dock and kayak’s with the paddles, the fire pit area, the guest house with full kitchen, bathroom and living area, generous parking for our 5 cars, full sized laundry room, and all of the toiletries, dishes, cups, utensils, keurig coffee pot, to just everything you could imagine. And if that wasn’t enough, as the sun was rising, looking through the floor to ceiling window in the living room, I swear I was in heaven. The guest house had the same huge window and the view, quite literally, was breathtaking. The beauty and tranquility of this place made us feel closer to heaven which is right where we needed to be. We will look upon this trip with the fondest of memories as we look forward to staying in our little piece of heaven again in the near future. Our love and appreciation goes out to everyone involved in the planning and execution of these wonderful memories we have made in this “hideaway” in beautiful Lake Norman, NC

Our extended family of 13 had a great long weekend stay. The house was very clean on arrival and the staff very responsive to any questions we had. We had kids from 8 years old to 17 years old and they had a blast swimming off the dock, kayaking and paddleboarding. We rented a lily pad and put lifejackets of the younger ones so all would be safe and it was perfect. We ate all our meals at the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. One of our adults has slightly limited mobility and the floor plan was very easy for him to navigate as well as the short walk to the dock. The sunsets out of the family room window over the lake are worth the trip alone! We had everything we needed and it was a lovely stay. I recommend it highly for families!

The location and view are magnificent. Our three grown children, their wives and five grandchildren completely enjoyed our stay. The kitchen has a good variety of pans, plenty of dishes and spices. Two of the bathroom in the main house lack fans even though there were no windows, all of the bathrooms could use more towel racks or hooks. The bunk room was a big hit with the kids. The bunk design gives everyone there own space, a fan in this room would improve air flow. The check in and checkout process is seamless.

So much for the kids to do. The location on the cove was perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. We rented a boat from Stay Lake Norman and the process was seamless. We will go back again!

Wow! Right on the lake. We had a boat for the whole week and we’re on the water the whole time. All restaurants and grocery store were with in 10-15 minutes from the property, that was a plus. This experience was tremendous because when we first pulled up to the property, we didn’t immediately take-in the size; the front yard-view alone is unassuming. However, when we finally checked in after 4pm and walked thru the main and guesthouse, we were floored by the stunning-features and adequate size for our group of 14! We had a wonderful time at this lake house. It was right on the water with lake views from everywhere. Each room was beautifully decorated including the guest house. The beds were really comfy. The bunk room was super cute. Kids would love it. Very well appointed kitchen. We had everything we needed. The cook top was ceramic instead of gas so hard to get used to and get the right heat. Our hot tub was not working. They tried hard to get it fixed to no avail. That was disappointing but they were very apologetic and did compensate us for the issue. We had a fire pit right on the water and the firewood was provided. We rented a pontoon boat (through StayLakeNorman) for 2 days. It was delivered to the house and then picked up which was so convenient. Kerri (not sure if that is the correct spelling) brought the boat over. She was great, very friendly and gave us instructions, safety tips, and suggestions for restaurants and sights. They even gave us an extra 1/2 day at no charge. Having the boat was worth every penny. Lake Norman is beautiful! Fran at StayLakeNorman was always reachable and very helpful. One suggestion would be to have a binder with tips on how to lock the doors, use the hot tub, operate the TV, use the dials on the cooktop as the numbers are rubbed off, etc. We really enjoyed our stay would definitely come back!

The house was stunning. The view of the lake during sunset and sunrise was truly a beautiful sight. The house was fully equipped and everything was ready to use. A group of 11 girls stood for a wedding party and the house was the highlight of our experience. The staff were easy to contact and very helpful. Would love to plan a trip again!

know how you rent a place and when you arrive it looks like they took the pictures from outside the room because the room looks so much bigger than actual size? or maybe they took the pictures about 10 years ago because it has become a little shabby? or they took them on the only sunny day in the year? well, this house was beyond our expectations. it was good size, the beds were comfortable, the spaces were not overly exaggerated, the hot tub was clean and spacious, the tvs all worked and were a nice size, the guest house was an oasis for the younger family with children and the bunk room was the hit of the week. we also rented a pontoon boat which was the icing on the cake. the property managers were right on with the communication, helping us when we accidentally locked a bedroom and could not get in and when we needed any questions answered. all in all, i would say to was a smooth week. thank you stay lake norman

We had a large family reunion after a family wedding and the house was able to accommodate 14 family members from California to France. Having the great room was perfect for big gatherings/game playing/dinners. Having the guest house was perfect for the honeymoon couple. Boat and jet ski companies simply dropped off our toys to the wonderful dock and we played all week. We will definitely be back.

Our organization, Pink LadyBug Foundation hosted a Healing Spa Retreat for Breast Cancer survivors at the Hideway; it was absolutely perfect! It truly became a healing sanctuary for our very special guests. The home is beautiful (depicted perfectly in the pictures, however, the pictures does not do it justice). The home is gorgeous and well stocked with everything we needed (I.e., Towels, linens, toiletry items, kitchen items, etc), The detached guest room was perfect to pamper our guests with spa treatments. Being on the lake added to our experience and we enjoyed the fire pit, the grounds were emaculate; very welcoming. Due to the time of the year, it was very quiet and peaceful. Ms. Pam Pounds was very accommodating from making our reservations - to meeting us at the home to welcome us and do a walk though of the property.. She was a delight to work with and was available for any of our calls and needs. (We had a challenge turning on the stove the first day, within 10 minutes, Ms. Pound had maintenance there to assist us.) We are looking forward to returning to host our next retreat. Thank you for help making our retreat a huge success.

We had such a great time for our Thanksgiving holiday. This place is outstanding. There were 8 adults and 4 children. There was plenty of room between the two houses. We did most of our own cooking , and found large items lacking. We didn't have large pots, pie pans, spatulas and item like that. However, we made do or improvised. Everything else was just perfect. Having two kitchens was great!!! We would certainly return. Thanks for a wonderful time

Felt like home. It was a great house to enjoy with friends. We all loved the view of the "Misty Cove" in the mornings, with the deer wandering through the yard. Then in the evenings, we loved having a drink on the back deck, sitting in large comfy chairs, watching the ducks, geese and birds. The design made it easy for us all to gather together, yet have our own space when we wanted some privacy.

We have rented homes all over the country and Hideaway House is truly unique! Situated in a quiet, private cove with majestic sunsets, we felt like we had a little slice of Heaven all to ourselves. Pam was so helpful throughout our stay, as was every person we encountered from this company. Pam facilitated our pontoon boat rental for the week, which I highly recommend. We spent large portions of our day out on the lake exploring, tubing and dining by boat. Overall, three generations gathered in a beautiful home with breathtaking views and made memories to last a lifetime!

The check in and check out was made with ease with the help of Pam. Pam met us at the property and answered all of our questions with a smile. My husband and I had our families meet for the first time and there was plenty of room for the three separate families. My husband's younger brothers loved the bunk bed room! The two large master bedrooms were liked by my in laws and my parents. The smaller guest house made for a nice private suite.I read some of the reviews before booking this house and someone stated that there was not many large serving plates, so before coming I bought some disposable platters and it worked out perfectly for our large dinners. We also appreciated that the house comes with paper towels, garbage bags, laundry detergent and toilet paper. The grille seemed to take a really long time to heat up, but once it was heated up, it worked fine. I definitely recommend this property if you are looking for a family get away with the best sunrises and sunsets!!!

A group of 14 of us ladies stayed to relax and celebrate my little sister getting married. This home was MORE than perfect!! The open layout is great for such a large group and and we never once felt crowded. The sunset view was AMAZING!! Not sure we could have picked a better home. Definitley worth the price, as the owner did not go cheap on anything. We rented a beautiful boat for a day and had a blast on the water!! If you are going back and forth between this home or another, definitely choose this home!! Pam was wonderful to work with. Very open communication, and easy to get in to touch with if necessary. If there would be anything that I could recommend it would be maybe 1 or 2 full length mirrors, as well as more trashbags, laundry detergent etc. With 14 people in that home, we ran through trashbags pretty quickly. We were unable to locate foil/siran wrap. Not sure if it was included, but would of come in hand for our needs. Overall, TREMENDOUS weekend and we will definitely be back!! Thank you so much, Pam!! We rented this house with extended family (adults and adult children) for our stay on Lake Norman for our son’s wedding. We have rented a number of VRBO homes around the country over the last few years and this was by far the best. Beside being clean and comfortable it was well equipped and we did not open cabinets to find leftover food, etc. from previous renters! The only thing I would suggest would be the addition of a small chair in each bedroom and perhaps a full length mirror somewhere. All in all it was perfect.

Wonderful home.. very nice property. We went for a girls weekend... And we used the separate house for a massage therapist to come... while everyone else was watching football in the main house. Insanely relaxing looking out at the lake from both homes. Highly recommend!!

This was the PERFECT place for my church's first Women's Retreat! It was more than we expected when we walked in. Everything in the home was there for us, well thought out and with excellence! The deck, yard, and access to the water was amazing. Had a great time! Just to let you know in case you want to look into, someone said they saw a cockroach or giant beatle or something in the crease of the wall/ ceiling above the TV in the main room.

Our Lake Norman rental home was fantastic! The entire process from check-in to check-out was seamless and well organized. We enjoyed full-time access to Lisa and Shari who attended to any questions we had. Additionally, we really loved the home. It was super-clean and served as the central gathering spot for us and our family members that we were visiting. The bunk-room was a huge hit and the kids never tired of it. Our family just recently spent a week at these beautiful homes perfectly situated with prestine views of Lake Norman. Whether you are cooking in the kitchen, relaxing on the couch, laying in bed your views of the lake are ever present. The magnificent outdoors space includes a large deck for family gatherings as well as comfortable seating with outdoor dining capabilities all ready in place. Not to be overlooked is your private beach with hand cut stone steps for direct access to the water for swimming, kayaking & paddleboarding. Lets now take a step inside of the main house. The moment you walk into the house you will soon realize that each & every detail was maticiously planned for the layout and feel of this property. Starting with the open floor plan of the well equipped kitchen, vaulted cedar ceilings, stone fireplace & comfortable modern furniture is truely an invitation to relax. Each bedroom is a suite within itself. The beds are beyond comfortable and provide a great night of sleep. Not to forget about the extra large closets to store all luggage & clothing. Although we did not have small children all I can say is WOW about the design of the "bunk bed" room !!! The bathrooms are sleek & put you in the mind of a high end resort. The guest house is more of the same fully equipped with all of the amenities as previously mentioned of the main house. What a great space for in-laws, grandparents or Mom & Dad (this is where we stayed). LOL Thank you to the gracious owner for his vision of relaxation & sense of such an inviting property. Main house and guest house better than advertised. We had 3 families stay with a total of 12 people, 6 adults and 6 children ages 19 to 5. Plenty of space for everyone. House interior very luxurious. House on a quiet cove not far from main channel. Easy to get around by boat. Short drive to town for restaurants, groceries. Will definitely stay again.

My family and I rented this home for our family vacation a few weeks ago. I had not seen the home before we arrived and I wil say, it is more beautiful than any rental I saw online. It is truly luxury. The home is decorated beautifuly and the view of the lake was amazing. After all, a lake house is about the view! Visited Lake Norman Hideaway 4th of July week with my family (wife, 2 kids 13 and 16) and other extended family members. We had about 6 adults and 6 kids, ages ranged between 9 and 72. The short version of the review is that this is the nicest property I have ever rented, and I have rented LOTS of houses in the Outer Banks and Cape Cod over the last 20 years. Our family had a terrific time, and Shari and her team were insanely responsive to our every need. More details below: The House: Basically like staying in a 5 star hotel. No expense was spared in the renovation, beds were high-end, AC kept us cool in the 95 degree heat, kitchen was great. Boat house was as nice as the main house. The deck was a great place to hang out, except in the hottest part of the afternoon. The house was also very private, well situated with some shade and trees to separate you from the neighbors. The Lake: Being more of an ocean person, I was worried the lake would be too warm, murky, etc. but it was very nice. The dock & gazebo on the dock provided a perfect spot to hang out, eat, drink, and swim from. The lake was warm but not too warm, and we swam from sun up to sun down. We rented a boat and tubed all week, the lake is perfect for water sports, easy spot to gas up the boat about 10 minutes away. Also, there were no bugs at all. I'm not sure why or how this was the case, maybe it's normal for this part of the country in the summer, but we didn't put bug spray on once the entire week, even when hanging out on the deck after dark. The house also came with a couple of kayaks and a SUP, all of which got lots of use. The Owners: As mentioned, they were very accommodating. They are pros, and know exactly what they are doing in terms of keeping the customer happy. They made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the week. The only improvement I would recommend is a large patio umbrella, which would allow for more hanging out on the deck in the middle of the day. But other than that, I would not change a think. Just loved the way the homes are finished, over the top quality and classy. We had a great time and it was so convenient to have the guest house close to the water for the kids. Did lots of hanging out there. Loved the large deck at the main house, the ensuite bathrooms, bunk room, beautiful kitchen and laundry area.We used the boat everyday, went to waterfront restaurants for lunch and dinner. We also did kayaking, water boarding, jet skis. We stayed in the guest house, so we 'lived next door' for a week. The grandkids came every morning for breakfast. This was special for us because our kids live in 5 different states. Nothing like quality family time and beautiful surroundings. And the sunsets are more than amazing!
