Everything from the time of booking and right up to the day we arrived was so smooth and informative. Our rental was beautiful and so much open space for our family’s reunion of 14. Everything from check in and check out and the boat rental went just as easily and hassle free as possible The house was immaculate and more than we could have imagined. The view, access to the lake and the atmosphere was perfect I must add though that the only negative was that we had planned a big grilling night the first evening we arrived and discovered that both propane tanks were empty. VERY disappointing since our first night was planned for a big grilling session, so we had to change up our whole menu for the night and we really wanted to relax when we got there but that wasn’t happening. It took until 1:30 pm the next day to get tanks replaced. Even after a message was left the evening before, and it was before 6 pm that office was notified. Other then that everything was amazing and would definitely do it again

Our family of 5 (three boys age 17-22) booked a last minute getaway and thoroughly enjoyed Southern Sunrise. First time visiting Lake Norman. In late August we found the lake peaceful and quiet. The home was spacious, clean and well stocked. Best features are the views, modern and well-stocked kitchen, and the outdoor spaces. We spent time on the deck, in the yard, the on the dock, in the kayaks, and in our rental boat on the water. Highlights were learning to wake surf with Ride LKN and tubing with the equipment we rented from Stutts Marina nearby. Zero problems or issues with the house or rental boat. The whole experience was care-free, good value, and exactly what we hoped for. We researched locations on the lake for our first stay and really felt like this location was a home run. We’ll be back.

The property was excellent, very nice inside and well taken care of. Location of property was good as well. Our family really enjoyed it. We would stay again. If there was any negatives, it was the condition of the kayaks. For this type of property I would expect nicer kayaks and ones that worked well. These did not. And, for a family that likes to kayak, we expected better. They went cheap on the kayaks. But, that is the only improvement I can come up with. Excellent property and excellent host. Very impressed with overall communication. Renting a boat for this location is a must. Perfect place for a boat. We miss it already.

You want to stay here if you like first class accommodations, lots of room for all family members/friends, you want to be in a great part of the lake for tubing and such, and you appreciate VRBOs that have a full extra refrigerator, a well stocked kitchen, a spacious dining room, and covered porches lining that entire back of the home, both upstairs and downstairs. The pictures, while wonderful and extensive, don’t even begin to do this property justice. The driveway has room for everyone’s car comfortably. The landscape is beautiful. The back yard is an extensive, beautiful depth that flows down to the lake. You can play football, badminton, work out, throw a frisbee, or pretty much anything you want to do with kids and/or friends. At the water front in the back yard is a wonderfully inviting fire pit area that has been cleared and laid with stones, and adirondacks waiting for your spot to enjoy a fire, and make s’mores. Also, a wonderful touch of service among many, was the fact that when we arrived, and walked out back, there was that wonderful fir pit already set up with wood for our first evening. Fantastic little touches like that are what make this property heavenly. First class body wash, shampoo and conditioners lined up in the bathrooms made me feel like I was at the Ritz. Beach towels were plentiful and made of thick-cotton. The utensils and cooking gear in the kitchen were plentiful, clean, and very useful. The grass grill on the upper back deck was large and came in very useful a few nights. We brought our own shrimp and crawfish boil gear, and it was wonderful that the property had an extra propane tank that we took to the downstairs covered patio where we fired up the pot for the shrimp and lobster boil we did one night. Little things like that are SO thoughtful, and first class. If you travel a great deal like we have, including internationally, you appreciate cleanliness, attention to detail, friendliness of staff, responsiveness of staff, and overall comfortability of anywhere you stay. The bedrooms were well laid out, and completely comfortable. The dining and living areas were roomy and well laid out. The downstairs is a treat for a “kid” of any age. The bunk beds built around the corner are a great touch, and very fun. There is whole other living area downstairs with its own wet bar and TV. The decks in back, that run the entire length of the house, are covered with ceiling fans and wonderful furniture and tables. The dock has a covered area with plenty of seating and a ceiling fan that was our gathering place after dinner and several afternoons. That area was a very nice touch for gathering. If you like the best villa in St. Barths, if you try to stay in the nicest places around the Mediterranean, if you like finding first class VRBOs around the country, and you love a perfect lake vacation - you need to stay at Southern Sunrise. You will be elated from the moment you walk in the front door and look out at the back yard, lake and dock, all the way through every evening on the deck or dock finishing another great bottle of wine with friends and family. Treat yourself - look no further. Southern Sunrise is your blissful retreat, taken care of with kid gloves, and furnished first class. We will be forever grateful to the owners, whoever they may be, for sharing this property with us. Thank you for providing a place for my wife’s special birthday celebration, where all the kids and grandkids were present, and we all had a blast, slept well, and had our own ‘space’ when needed. Just outstanding!!

The house, the dock and the lake were wonderful! We had a great time! Loved every minute of it!!! We rented a boat and had a blast. I do wish the dock had jet ski ramps though. Maybe in the future they can put a couple in. Would definitely rent the house again, or any Stay Lake Norman house.

Stumbled upon this home online and decided to give it a whirl to help me host a spa and retreat theme 50th for myself and my friends across the country. The home was absolutely STUNNING!!! The setup, amenities and features of the home made this weekend an absolute blast!! The home is well stocked with toiletries, upgrades and style. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The location was EVERYTHING!! Right on the lake!

The house was perfect, the view was perfect, the rental management company was perfect There were a couple of older members in our family that had a difficult time getting up the front steps, as the first step was a little high and there were no railings. Within an hour Shawn from the management team had built and delivered a small step that made entry into the home do much better. Service - above and beyond. The house was we'll furnished and equipped from logs by fire pit, any cooking item you could need in kitchen and toiletry items in bathrooms. In many ways the house is great for older people - all one level, walk in showers, areas in rooms easy to maneuver. There are a couple of things that would make it better - railings on stair entry into home, grab bars in showers. However, for family without older members - perfect Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We ONLY rent through Stay Lake Norman and this home 🏡 was BEYOND what we expected! What an amazing week. We literally wanted to change our environment from Wake Forest for a week to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we made a great choice. Our kids came with us and while we worked, they did their virtual learning. This house is so amazing that we will look for this one when we come back if it’s available. We will eventually look for a property at Lake Norman to purchase because of our amazing experiences. This house is in the top 2 of all of our stays.... BRAVO to the owner of the property. My family wanted a place for the holiday that was close to home. Since we all have not had the opportunity to travel this year because of the pandemic...creating a special holiday was sooo needed. This beautiful home DID NOT disappoint ! All the pictures are a perfect representation of the home we had the pleasure of spending our Christmas holiday! From the expansive living areas to the beautiful grounds. Though it was winter.....the outdoor living space is exceptional ....huge areas for fun and play. Beautiful waterfront as well. Plenty of room to play and gather inside and out...for kids and adults. We can't wait to come back in the summer to have a wonderful family summer vacation!

My group consisted of 7 PhD students looking for a place to focus. We chose this location for our writing retreat because it seemed to be a nice scenic environment to focus without distraction. We loved it! The spaces are beautiful and provided us with various places to disperse to write but also to come together to socialize and check in. We have decided that we will return; and will try again in warmer months so that we can enjoy the lake in its full glory! Also, the sunrise is beautiful and you can witness it just standing in almost every inch of the home!

Southern Sunrise is well-situated with a wide expanse of lakeview to greet you every morning. The home was spotlessly clean, functioning, and well equipped with all cooking essentials. Basic supplies of welcome soap, shampoo, garbage bags - well thought out welcoming amenities. Dock was clean and in good working order, and an additional peaceful retreat. Home is well-located in a convenient location easy access to stores to meet every need, friendly neighbors and neighborhood well-lit and walkable. Management staff so very helpful and responsive. New Year 2021 cannot come soon enough. But StayLakeNorman and Southern Sunrise will be a welcome highlight of Thanksgiving 2020! Thank you so much!

Southern Sunrise is a beautiful, well-stocked home in a quiet neighborhood. The lake views are gorgeous and every room of the home is relaxing! We have rented numerous homes across the country in the past and found Southern Sunrise to be the most beautifully decorated and functionally equipped of any rental - ever! This was the perfect place for a family retreat! A week just wasn't long enough! This house has it all! From teenagers to grandparents, we all loved this comfortable home, dock, and lake! We were so pleased with the way everything was handled! Our trip was seamless! We stopped for groceries on the way to our home (5 minutes away!). and when we got there everyone was just kept going on and on! 2 King Bedrooms were awesome to have! My 22 year old niece took a trip in time and chose the bunk room!! She loved having her own floor! The place was spotless, beautifully decorated and exactly what we wanted! The boat was there waiting for us as well!! Thank you for the awesome weather too! Every day was a blast! We didn’t expect the lake to be SO warm! That was delightful! We grew up going to the lakes in IN so my brother and I relived those days while making new memories! We hope to come back next summer. The location to restaurants and grocery and marina were amazing! The people of NC welcomed us with opened arms which we loved! The food was awesome too!! A trip we all said we would love to repeat! This was my Christmas gift to my family and I couldn’t have been more pleased! I had as much fun if not more than they did!! The commute to the airport was also a piece of cake! A+ Lake Norman, we loved it!!

We were awoken by gentle birdsong, and enjoyed lake vistas from the broad deck of this tranquil property. Fabulous! When it rained, we STILL enjoyed the covered deck! Great dock as well! The communications from this management company are easy and timely. The house was in a great location on the lake, and it's a cool house! The decor is beautiful! And it was spotless! A biggie: the mattresses are all comfortable! We would definitely rent this property again; cannot recommend highly enough!

Beautiful home with everything you could possibly need in a great location. Stayed for two very peaceful weeks.
I've rented other houses on the lake before and this was by far the best I've stayed in. Will def rent from Shari again either this house or one of their other wonderful properties.

This property was beyond perfect. My family did not want to leave, the amenities were amazing. The home was stocked with the all the essentials and more. Fran and Shari were super helpful and responsive. Already planning on staying again in the summertime to enjoy Lake Norman.

This property is probably the nicest property that I have ever reserved. I had a birthday girls weekend there and it was more than magical for all 8 of us. We had so much fun-- and there was so much space to relax and even have "me" time. The details were beautiful, the views of the lake were fantastic-- I can't say enough about this property. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity.

We stayed at Southern Sunrise for our annual church ladies retreat and it was perfect. The perfect weather combined with the beautiful house and lake made it a wonderful trip. This house is even more beautiful and roomy than the pictures show. There was so much room for us to gather or eat as a group and beautiful seating areas scattered indoors and out, perfect for conversations and relaxing. The lake is so close and the beautiful dock is peaceful. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards and the spectacular sunrise. I highly recommend this lake home!

Whoever remodeled this house went OVERBOARD. Everything inside looks brand new. The dock is such a cool place top hang out. Can't wait to come back.

Great time at Lake Norman in this Beautiful rental property! House was great, fully stocked, clean, everything you need. Amazing views, nice quiet neighborhood, a beautiful dock! Not much more to ask for. If you are looking for a place to stay for in the Lake Norman area look no further! Southern Sunrise has a great main floor layout with spacious kitchen, dining, and living all open for everyone to interact---the views of the wide cove are spectacular from inside and on the deck as well as the dock with covered seating area--- wonderful for morning coffee and afternoon social hour. The kitchen is very well stocked and there is a generous supply of towels, including beach towels.The location is very convenient to grocery stores and other amenities and it's a short boat ride to several restaurants on the lake. Thanks to Fran, Shari, and Gabriel for the efficient and helpful rental arrangements for the house and boat---we had a great week and would love to return Sunrise!

Staff has great reply time during the planning stage and the home itself had everything we needed. We utilized the pontoon option and the family loved seeing it already at our dock when we arrived after a 10 hour drive! The bunk space downstairs was a perfect set up that worked for the kids. Communication was key with minor problems so we fully enjoyed the week without any worries. The lake itself was amazing! Very refreshing to play on! Unanimous vote to return next year! Thanks Shari, Kyle, Danny and the staff! Impeccable rental!!

This property perfectly suited our family. We cook a lot & kitchen was well stocked. Easily accessible to food markets. Lots of great shade in the afternoons. The living area with comfortable sectionals was perfect for gathering. The porch & dock sitting areas were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms were spotless, We so hope to return next year,

We had a wonderful week at Southern Sunrise! Everything exceeded our expectations and we really appreciated everyone at Stay Lake Norman that made our stay so easy and lovely. But the house and the dock and the beds were absolutely fabulous!! We highly recommend and we will be booking this place again.

After spending five summers on Lake Norman, we finally found our favorite house. Southern Sunrise is beyond accommodating- great layout, all new furnishings, beautiful brand new dock, great outdoor areas, plenty of linens, and very comfortable sleeping areas. Not to mention a stellar view from the expansive windows! Our family was so happy to spend our time here- the perfect spot for a family reunion and for members of all generations. Stay Lake Norman was extremely helpful with any concerns we had and greatly attributed to our wonderful time here. We certainly will be back!! This is a place you don't want to miss. Thanks for a great week!
