Looking for someplace beautiful to walk your dog (on leash)? We recommend Jetton Park for a lovely stroll along the lake. If you’re looking for more extensive hiking paths, Lake Norman State Park is the perfect place for you. Or, visit Bellingham Park for a gentle, paved walk through the trees.
Additionally, you can find Officer Jordan H. Sheldon Memorial Dog Park at Cornelius Road Park in Mooresville. Here, your pup will have fun exploring the 2.2 acre park complete with water stations, a K-9 agility course, and separate areas for large, small, and timid dogs.
Dog-Friendly Restaurants and Breweries around Lake Norman
When you’re visiting Lake Norman, you definitely want to enjoy some waterfront dining with spectacular lake views. These restaurants all fit the bill, and will welcome your pooch to their patio: Hello Sailor, Apps and Taps, North Harbor Club, and Toucan’s Lakefront.
For a unique experience, you may want to visit Lucky Dog Bark and Brew in Cornelius. It is the area’s only dog bar, providing a full service bar with indoor/outdoor seating as well as a play yard for pups complete with dog park obstacles. There are also many other breweries in the area, like Ghostface Brewing Beer Lab and Overflow in Mooresville and Primal Brewery in Huntersville that have dog-friendly outdoor areas.
