Welcome to fall in North Carolina, when the heat and humidity subside and the autumn colors pop. Because everyone is eager to get out and enjoy the gorgeous weather, local fall festivals offer exciting weekend plans and a way to connect with the best of what Lake Norman has to offer.

September

September 13 | Bands, Brews & BBQ | Mooresville

Mouth-watering BBQ from regional food trucks, serving up a variety of barbecue styles and Southern-inspired eats plus a curated selection of craft beers from local and regional breweries. There will be rides, games, and activities for all ages as well as a live music lineup featuring high-energy performances.

September 13 | Davidson Fall Art Festival 

Main Street will feature 40 local artists selling fine art and handmade gifts. Live music and crafts for kids make this a fun event for the whole family. 


September 27 | 'Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival | Cornelius

An eclectic art event in the heart of Cornelius, featuring dozens of local vendors, live street performances, shopping, and amazing food.


September 27 | Charlotte Fall Beer Festival 

This fall beer festival in Charlotte offers unlimited sampling of beer, cider and seltzer made by 20+ national, regional, and local craft breweries. There will be delicious food from some of Charlotte's most popular food trucks. Listen to incredible live music, and enjoy a variety of activities. Tickets required.


September 28 | All-American Dog Show | Cornelius 

Robbins Park in Cornelius welcomes hundreds of dog lovers and their furry friends to enjoy pet-related vendors, concessions, and fun contests.


September 30 | Mooresville Motorsports Celebration

The Mooresville Motorsports Celebration is a racing fan's ideal event showcasing race cars, current and vintage hot rods, food trucks, live music, and the greatest names in auto racing history.

OCTOBER

October 4 | Renaissance Festival | Huntersville

The most unique festival in Huntersville opens every weekend until Thanksgiving! You'll find music, comedy and theater, food and drink, hand-made arts and crafts, artisan demonstrations, games, and rides as well as hundreds of costumed characters re-creating a 16th-century European marketplace.


October 11 | Laketoberfest | Cornelius

An annual favorite in Lake Norman! Laketober Music & Brew Festival is a family-friendly festival in Cornelius featuring live music, beer from local NC breweries, a variety of food trucks, a kids' zone with crafts and games, and axe throwing. Admission and parking are free. Pets are not allowed.


October 16 | NC Music Hall of Fame 2025 Induction Ceremony | Mooresville   

A night filled with music, celebration, and nostalgia. This is a can't-miss event for any music enthusiast or proud North Carolinian. Tickets required.


October 25-27 | Halloweekend | Davidson 

Starting at 5:00 pm on Friday with the annual Halloween March along Main Street, receive treats from merchants and local organizations.


October 26 | Halloween in Huntersville 

Halloween in Huntersville will feature vendors, food trucks, a costume contest (starting at 5:30pm) and a Movie in the Park at Veterans Park.


October 31 |  Downtown Mooresville Halloween Candy Grab 

The whole community is invited to show off their best costumes and have a blast collecting candy and other tasty surprises from local businesses and organizations.
